Hardwired or NEMA 14-50 plug?

Either works. Hardwired is required for chargers above 40A continuous (per NEC), and is what we recommend for most permanent residential installs. NEMA 14-50 is convenient if you might want to take the charger with you or swap units. We'll explain the trade-offs at quote time.

Do I need a permit for an EV charger install in University Area?
